Currently, ultrasonic diffraction testing technology is very popular both domestically and internationally. Numerous experiments and research in Europe and America have shown that TOFD diffraction wave detection technology has proven to be a very capable, accurate, reliable, and safe detection method. It usually uses a longitudinal wave angled probe, adopting a one-transmit-one-receive mode, transmitting ultrasonic pulses into the workpiece. When the workpiece is defect-free, the first signal received by the receiving probe is the direct wave, followed by the bottom surface reflection wave. If there is a defect in the workpiece, diffraction waves generated at the two ends of the defect will be received between the direct wave and the bottom surface reflection wave. The defect is quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed based on the transmission time. Therefore, in TOFD detection, the instrument is very important, and the probe is the most crucial.
